Description
This course provides an overview of Software Assurance and focuses on the importance of SwA to Department of Defense programs and products. Participants will identify Software Assurance, meet the stakeholders in SwA and understand their responsibilities and requirements, and understand how SwA is integrated into the system development lifecycle from the perspective of multiple acquisition workforce disciplines. Participants will be guided through 15 lessons that identify the activities, tasks, and steps necessary to understand and integrate Software Assurance into acquisition programs.
Objectives
The student will be able to explain the fundamentals of Software Assurance by:
  • Defining SwA
  • Identifying the risks associated with software
  • Identifying the key aspects of DoD SwA policy and guidance
  • Associating the SwA activities and their purposes and where they occur across the acquisition life cycle
  • Associating the acquisition professional or organization with their SwA responsibilities
  • Identifying contractual requirements that implement SwA
  • Identifying additional resources for next step in SwA
  • Target Attendees
    Acquisition workforce members involved with software acquisition, development and sustainment.
