Description
This module will provide an overview of telemetry, to include descriptions of the components of telemetry systems, the science behind telemetry, and how telemetry enhances capabilities in multiple areas. Coverage begins with telemetry nomenclature and an outline of the history of telemetry before moving to the subsystems common to all telemetry systems and an in-depth discussion of the scientific underpinnings of steps in the telemetry process. The module continues with discussions on range applications, testing, recording, display, and analysis of telemetry data before concluding by covering related concepts such as data processing systems.
Objectives
Be able to describe a telemetry system and its associated subsystems; outline transmission, reception, recording and display details; summarize link analysis; describe testing of telemetry systems and range applications.
Target Attendees
Although significant portions of this module cover highly technical and mathematically advanced concepts and go into considerable detail on telemetry systems, program managers, systems engineers, life cycle logisticians, and others in the T&E field with an interest in telemetry should benefit from this module.
