 Description
Fundamentals of Cost Accounting Standards—Part I provides detailed, hands-on instruction in the various aspects of Public Law 100-679, including the rules and regulations of the Cost Accounting Standards Board, cost accounting standards, and disclosure statements for federal contracts. This course addresses only those standards applicable to modified cost accounting standards coverage. This course addresses those standards applicable to modified coverage, cost accounting practice changes and calculating cost impacts.

Target Attendees
CON 250 is for military officers, O-3 and above, or civilians, GS-9 and above, with at least 2 years of experience in the Contracting career field. Personnel should be responsible for cost accounting standards administration for one or more contractors or have a current (or pending) assignment dealing with cost accounting standards-related issues.
Prerequisite(s)
  • CON 218, Advanced Contracting for Mission Support (ONLY IF NOT Level II certification in Contracting)
  • CLC 008, Indirect Costs
  • Recommended: Completion of a first-year college accounting course or equivalent and completion of CON 232, Overhead Management of Defense Contracts
